Designed to be the largest and most innovative floating resort in the fleet, the Carnival Dream will enhance family cruising in a big way. The Dream will possess the most elaborate children's areas at sea and it will feature new cabins for families. The Deluxe Ocean View Staterooms will sleep 5 and provides a full shower bathroom as well as an additional bathroom with junior tub & sink. Keeping with the family theme, the Dream will also boast the biggest Carnival WaterWorks aqua park to date and the line's first double-decker miniature golf course. Among the DREAM’s many highlights is a new dining and entertainment complex called The Piazza. You’ll find a wide variety of cuisine choices, a multi-media café with high-speed Internet, a bandstand and a dance floor. Other highlights include a half-mile outdoor full wrap-around promenade, featuring four “scenic Jacuzzis” that cantilever over the side of the ship providing beautiful ocean views. The Carnival Dream will also offer the most elaborate and expansive open-deck area of any Carnival “Fun Ship,” with a tropical, resort-style main pool complete with a Seaside Theatre with an oversized LED screen; a Serenity adults-only retreat and much more.

This new ship also features Carnival’s largest health and wellness center to date, an expansive 23,000 square foot Cloud 9 Spa.

Scheduled to enter service September 21, 2009, the Carnival Dream begins service with an inaugural 12-day Grand Mediterranean cruise from Rome (Civitavecchia) with two additional 12- day Grand Mediterranean cruises. The ship will then sail on a 16-day transatlantic crossing from Rome (Civitavecchia) to New York. From New York, Carnival Dream will operate two 8-day Bahamas/Florida cruises. Then will reposition to Port Canaveral, Fla., where it will launch year round 7 day Caribbean cruises starting Dec. 5, 2009. On its new Port Canaveral based program, Carnival Dream will depart every Saturday on alternating weeklong cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean.

The Carnival Dream is now open for reservations. Be one of the first to sail on Carnival’s most visionary ship yet.

Airport CounterBetween airline upheaval, rising prices and ever changing air regulations, air travel can be less than
a vacation.

But by going the extra mile The DePrez Group of Travel Companies sets itself apart. The skills of our longtime agents were invaluable over the past few months, when three airlines filed for bankruptcy and others cancelled flights because of emergency safety inspections. "We had several people who could have been affected, but we were able to re-accommodate all passengers in advance by accessing our realtime, online reporting to stay proactive." Says Sue Sparnecht, Manager of the DePrez Corporate Travel Division.

Many consumers dabble with internet travel services. Online booking has grown in popularity over the past decade. But woe to the traveler who uses those sites and then runs into problems. Sparnecht says "An experience like that drives many consumers back to travel professionals."

Our clients have discovered that when it comes to planning a trip and fixing problems, working with a skilled professional trumps a web site. Our agents have extensive experience and are pros at finding bargains and unraveling the newest travel regulations and procedures. "There are a lot of people out there who don't have time to scour the internet," Sparnecht said. "They appreciate the fact that they can just pick up the phone and get the best value along with great service."

"If travelers book their reservations on the internet, they must monitor schedule changes, equipment changes and flight cancellations themselves, and we are unable to assist if problems erupt enroute. Our clients have the full support of DePrez' experienced agents who are constantly monitoring and updating your travel information." Sparnecht said. "If problems should arise while traveling, we are there for you - 24 hours a day -7 days a week."

AirportDePrez also suggests that travelers consider the benefits of buying travel insurance for eventualities such as flight delays and  cancellations. The cost of travel insurance is a percentage of the overall package price and can cover everything from a medical emergency, to lost luggage. Travelers should know what their insurance covers before they leave. Not all travel insurance policies cover vacation plans booked with companies that go bankrupt, as in the case of Aloha and ATA airlines, which filed for bankruptcy protection. Our experienced DePrez agents will know this information and be able to steer clients towards covered airlines.

Travel Tips

With the current fuel costs, many airlines now charge a
fee for as little as one bag.   Tips for packing light:

  • Check the Weather - consider visiting http://www.weather.com/. It's easier to pack for the climate than it is to shop for it after you get there.

  • Consider your Activities - List your activities, special occasions, playing golf, meeting with clients, etc. This will give you a good idea of the types of clothes to pack.

  • Use a Color Scheme - Stick with a color scheme, to mix and match clothing easily. This will provide numerous outfits from a few pieces. Darks tend to show less dirt; neutrals can span a variety of climates.

  • Opt for Travel Friendly Fabrics - Knit, gabardine, and denim travel more easily than linen, silk, and cotton. Opt for easy care fabrics that retain their shape and look good with minimum fuss.

  • Choose Pieces Wisely - Several tops teamed with a couple of bottoms will see you through several days' wear. Thus you can dress up or down a pair of slacks for meetings, restaurants, sight seeing, strolls along the beach etc..

  • Scrimp On Shoes - To save your back and conserve space, trim your shoes to two pairs. Wear one while traveling and pack the other.

  • Pack a Bag within a Bag - This is helpful if you plan to return with more than you left with due to shopping, gifts, etc.

  • Carry Toiletries and Meds Separately - Pack medications, pertinent toiletries, and treasures in a carry-on. These can be hard to replace if lost and are great to have on-hand in an emergency. Liquid toiletries and medical supplies must be packed in a quart sized ziplock bag not more than 3 oz liquid each. See regulations for carry-ons.

  • If More than One or Two Bags is needed - Consider shipping them ahead of time. Some companies, like Luggage Free, will even pick-up, wrap and ship luggage both ways.

Packing for business or pleasure needn't be a panic inducing event. Start with a plan, opt for a color scheme, pack travel friendly fabrics, and choose pieces wisely for function and versatility. Not only will you look well put together, you'll be amazed how far you can go with so little.

The free baggage allowance per traveler varies by airline and changes frequently. Some airlines are now charging for each bag checked. Planning a trip?
Check your airline’s baggage policy.
