American Airlines has moved international service and opened a U.S. Customs and Immigrations facility at its new $1.3 billion terminal at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. The new terminal is American's latest step to enhance overall customer experience for both arriving and departing passengers.

• The new customs facility boasts 32 immigration and 10 Customs positions, capable of processing up to 1,600 passengers per hour (400 more than before)
• Each agent at the 84 ticketing positions will have his or her own automated baggage belt that feeds directly into a security baggage system
• The new baggage system can process 3,200 bags per hour, which will greatly expedite passenger processing times
• The number of concessions and duty free shops has been expanded by over 80% from the previous terminal
• A new and expanded four-level parking garage holds 1,960 parking spaces, nearly four times the spaces of the former lot, and connects to the existing JFK Air Tran station.
